I am living in a forest of mirrors. Phone rings, my own number pops up and it is Jeff calling Jeff. I answer my own call and it directs me to my messages. I am unable to leave a message for myself. I call the long suffering phone tree at Comcast to complain that I receive calls from myself or my alter ego. Of course it is outsourced. Richardo in Costa Rica ask me for my number. Is it not on your screen? No sir, I did not receive the pop-up. I give him my number. He asks what number was calling you? MY OWN, damn you! Oh and your name is??? On yer screen, aint it? Well just to confirm. Yes- it is Jeff. SOOO, Jeff you received a call from Jeff at your own number. YES! It was MY number calling me. Jeff called Jeff. OOOH I see. Can we confirm your address Mr? Look on the screen. Yes it is the one you have. And this is the person I am speaking to and your name is Jeff? Low growls on my end, I have seen Abbott and Costello. He catches on slowly. Well sir, perhaps we can do an update BUT you will not be able to receive calls for five minutes. DELIGHTFUL! Sorry, Sir? Delightful Richardo! So I can lay this phone down, not talk to anybody INCLUDING you or a computer, it wont ring and you promise Jeff wont call Jeff ever again? Yes sir, that is correct. Phone is still lying there like a dead snake.
