I am looking for a bit of recent insight/help. I have been down - TopicsExpress

I am looking for a bit of recent insight/help. I have been down to south Florida, specifically for the photography of endangered/threatened/protected critters, a few times. I plan on returning this year at least once. Some of those critters I have been down there to photograph and have great success with are the American Crocodile and Key Deer. One of the other critters I have been looking for is the Miami Blue Butterfly which is critically endangered. Due to conservation efforts, we at least have these in captivity thankfully. They have tried releasing them on a few Keys, including Bahia Honda. The wikipedia page and other websites I have gone to have limited info after 2006. I ONLY photograph things in the wild, never in zoos/captivity. Has anyone here had any luck or know of additional info...or where some good places to inquire for additional information? Or know of any future releases? It is my understanding that the Green Iguana could be a fierce adversary to the Miami Blue because I have been told they eat the plants that the Miami Blue Butterfly needs to survive. Any info on what those plants might be? I took this photo of a Green Iguana in Bahia Honda State Park, 2009. Although they are quite beautiful creatures when young, I fear this invasive species will prevent any serious recovery of the Miami Blue Butterfly. Any helpful information is appreciated.
