I am lucky enough to be celebrating another birthday today. I am grateful that my mind is still good. I am grateful that I am married to a lovely lady who is not only my lover, but my best friend. I am grateful for my children and grandchildren and fervently wish they could live in the America I grew up in and not the one we currently have, and in some cases, the America they helped make. I am grateful for my extended family and the love I continue to get from them. I am grateful for my deceased parents and the values and manners they taught me. I am grateful for my friends in America and abroad. I am grateful for radio listener friends around the world. The emails and messages from them always make me smile and keep me feeling young. I am grateful that I have had the honor of meeting a lot of people, famous and not so famous. I try to always keep in mind that everybody has a story to tell. I am grateful that I have had the opportunity to travel to 43 countries and add the education I received from those travels to my memory bank. I still believe in never losing track of your dream. I have always had a goal, sometimes, in retrospect not a well thought out one, and I have tried to stay on course. I believe the things you work for are far more valuable than the things that are given you. I am grateful the America I grew up in gave me the opportunity to speak my mind, and I still do. I am grateful that I am not politically correct and believe ill mannered people need to be reminded they are an aggravation to the rest of us. I believe humans differ from the other dumb animals in this major way. We can reason. We can decide what is correct and what is not. Everybody is not a winner. Everybody does not deserve a trophy. You should be rewarded when you excel and you should be held responsible for your actions if you do wrong. It is not the fault of somebody else....its your fault. I believe within reason you can do anything you want to do. You can have most anything you want if you want it badly enough. I look back on all the years I have been granted and realize my life has been really good........and it continues to be even today. Thank you all for the nice birthday wishes. Get in, well just ride around and listen to the radio.
