I am lucky to hold onto very few regrets in my life. The things I have struggled through and bad decisions I have made have helped to make me the person I am today, and honestly, I like that person a lot. One of my sincerest regrets though is missing a phone call just over 4 years ago. It was the last time my father called me to wish me a happy birthday, and the first time he had called me in months after he and I had a falling out over the way he was living his life and the effect it would have on his grandchildren. I only found out later that he had tried to clean up and get things in order and was calling to wish me a happy birthday and try to get together to see the kids. 3 weeks later his body finally gave up and he was gone. Go watch some old episodes of Twilight Zone, Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica or maybe a Godzilla movie tonight. Fill the garbage can with pistachio shells and microwave popcorn bags. Find a video game to play or break out your charcoals and just draw. Whatever you do, just make sure you take the call.
