I am making a post now that is probably the hardest I have ever made. What I am about to post now is not a quick decision, but a decision that I have had to seriously think about for the past couple weeks. I am sure all of you have seen the posts about my health issues over the past couple weeks. After my doctor appointment today, I had to make some life changing decisions. I have COPD and Syncope both which are treatable. But it means I have to change my lifestyle. With that change comes a decision for me to step down as the President and Owner of the Hanover Rhinos. Again this was not easy to make but it had to be done. During my tenure of the Rhinos as the President,Owner and Head Coach I need to say that I have been fortunate enough to work and surround myself with great people who have the same vision I have for this team. I have the privilege of meeting great players who have dedicated themselves to this team and what it stands for. I have also met various people in the community who worked very hard for this team. Have there been a lot of ups and downs? Sure. Every business has the same growing pains. When JW reformed the Rhinos 2010, his vision was to bring a semi pro team back to Hanover. He then handed the reigns to me, and I had a lot of hard work in front of me. But again with dedication and the right people, it worked. No matter what I heard good or bad about me, my goal was always to have a team that stood for stamina, professionalism and team work. But now I feel like the parent who is sending their child out for the first time on their own and you hope that you taught them well. I feel l like I can release this team in great hands. I want everyone to know that you have a great staff and co-owners who have the same goal as I have. Am I going to miss this? Of course. But for now I have to redirect my energy to my health and my daughter. She is growing way too fast and I have to spend as much time as I can with her. I want all of the players to give Adam and Chris all the support they will need. Believe me there is a lot to owining a club. Its more than just playing a game. The players I think of as of my family and I will miss them. I will always be there for any guidance that is needed by anyone on the team. I wish you guys a lot of success in your games and always remember to be there for each other and pick each other up when it is needed. I will be notifying the AFA of my decision tonight and in the next 24 hours announcing the successor as President of the club. Thank you guys for everything. It has been great.
