I am meeting the delegation of the Kenya Chamber of Commerce and industry, Kilifi chapter, led by the Chairman, Mr. Jacob Saleri and Secretary Mr. Deche Kashero. The delegation is in the office to discuss strategies that will see local entrepreneurs benefit from the County government tenders. We are all in agreement that our people should first meet the prerequisite terms and conditions set by the relevant legislation and policies for them to benefit rightfully to avoid contravening the laws. It’s our wish as a government that 70% of the tenders are awarded to the local people which will also have a multiple effect that shall trickle down to the grassroots thereby creating jobs and opportunities to our jobless youth in the County.
