I am not a Pathfinder; I am not a Royal but for two wonderful - TopicsExpress

I am not a Pathfinder; I am not a Royal but for two wonderful years the Sheriff for 1 RCR (Sep 05 – Sep 07); I am a veteran - wore the uniform with pride for 30 years, yes I was a Military Policeman and in my heart still beats one now that I am retired. Do I think that this matter with the so called poser should now die a quiet death, yes, before more damage than good or justice is served. The man has been branded, publicly shamed and is more than likely never going to have much of a private life for the rest of his days. EVERYONE makes mistakes, yes some larger than others but we have all done it. It is human to error but to forgive is divine. His family is being bothered by everyone under the sun, he has lost his job and how will he be able to support them or live a normal life ever again? Threats made, come on people we are Canadians, we know better and expect better of others and not ourselves? No more press, no more threats, give the man his job back, leave his family alone………….and if he is in a situation where maybe he is a victim and needs some help, let’s get him that help. Maybe he wore it for his own reasons which we may never ever know. Growing up I always wanted to like my hero, my father and would mimic him, maybe in his own way he was mimicking his heroes, those who wear the uniform? But does it really matter? The sun will still go down and rise tomorrow in this great country we call Canada. Enough damage and hurt has been done. Let us heal like we need to in the memory of all those who have served, those who still serve and those who will serve in the years to come. We are Canadians, let show the world we can forgive and move forward, we can grow and together we can continue to set an example for others to emulate.
