I am not a musician, nor do I claim to be, I just have fun trying to sing. This is why I wanted to do a song for a special young man who is beating all odds. Beaten to the edge of death by another inmate at the Shelby County Detention Center a while ago, he was originally given about a 10% chance of survival, but at this point, it is a given that he is a survivor. Whether you go along the religious lines and think its a work of God, or just pure inner strength and a desire to carry on, fact of the matter is, he is gonna make it. Why did I choose to do this song for him? Because it is a song that his mother Patty Monroe, and his sister Amanda Monroe said he loved. As I understand, he, and his mother often jammed out to this song together. So, even though it is way out of my norm for this kind of music, I felt it held special meaning to a young survivor named Jo Nathan Monroe, so this is my way of saying KICK SOME ASS BRO!! And get yourself back to normal, you are the true definition of a fighter. And I took some artistic liberty at the end of this to add a line to the lyrics...
