I am not a negative nancy I am always looking on the brightside. I am writing this because I am emotionally charged and very concerned. We just moved here from Morgantown very recently. My husband, dog, and I love to go on walks after dinner. In the past two months we have lived here my dog and I were attacked by a pitbull completely unprovoked and lead to medical attention for both my dog and I. Tonight the same thing happened a pitbull got loose and thankfully this time I scooped up my 65 lb boxer and my husband stood in between me and the growling pitbull. I do not want to sit here and rant but this is getting ridiculous. As a responsible dog owner, I am always in control of my pet. It is to the point that both my dog and I cannot even enjoy walks in the neighborhood anymore. Every time we walk by an aggressive barking dog he wimpers but will still stand between me and the aggressive dog to unwillingly protect me. There are so many children in my neighborhood that walks their dogs. All I can think of is this happened to me twice in two months what if this was a child? It is pathetic that I have to carry MACE on my leash to feel safe walking in my own neighborhood. If you have a dog and do not have a fence for goodness sake CHAIN YOUR DOG!
