I am not a snake handler. I do not want to tempt my God. I do not play around in sin. I do not want to tempt God. The New Testament says that we will tread on serpents, and take them up and they will not harm us. I take that as a spiritual meaning. I cast out devils, run them off, come against their works, and warn people of them. The devil is a serpent and can cause as much harm or more than a snake. People pick them up by abiding in sin and worldly pleasures. You can avoid them by drawing close to God and reading his Word. You can have power over them by receiving the mighty Holy Ghost filling. Everyone that is saved has received some of the Holy Spirit. Reading the Bible will add on to your Holy Spirit. Some Churches teach that every Christian has the same amount. Jesus said "Blessed are the poor in spirit for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven." You can enter in by praying for the "Baptism of the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues" and then you will have rivers of living waters flowing out of your inner most being. "This spake he of the Spirit". All of this is scriptural though many Churches preach against this Word. I have this power from God and it is wonderful.
