I am not against the idea of this monument but I do take issue - TopicsExpress

I am not against the idea of this monument but I do take issue with where it is being built. I am Canadian and I want my government to STOP abusing the native peoples here. I want my government to honour the rulings of the supreme court they have ignored, e.g. the recent ruling requiring the government to return all monies in trust for the native peoples to a trustee of their choosing and which our government has simply ignored because they spent the 2 to 3 trillion dollars that is supposed to be in that account. And on that note - why are so many reserves in such dire straits when there should be ample money to ensure that every one of them a has access to food, shelter, clean water and warmth? Most Canadians are unaware that Parliament Hill sits on unceded Algonquin land. The House of Commons, the Senate, and the Supreme Court of Canada make laws for all Canadians while situated on land that was never lawfully purchased from the aboriginal owners, contrary to formal legal rules established in 1763. Together we can create this world beautiful. Gratitude and Solidarity.
