I am not interested in ever running for any political office, but part of me is potentially interested in trying to become a neighborhood officer for Highland Park Neighborhood Association next year as a way to help do Acorn style organizing in the Highland area. We need to organize our ally communities in Birmingham. And my neighborhood is a really important part of that. If I did, I would probably do it for one term. Because, as I said, I am an organizer. My goal is to help bring people together so that they can more democratically run themselves, not be in those positions myself. But it might be an interesting tactic to do for just one term (2 years) as a means to help organize my community.... Their are other options that go along with my typical ideas of playing the role I would rather play as an organizer that I would prolly rather do, but just trying to think, power map, and debate organizing theory out loud.
