I am not interested in this progressive Christianity and catering to what is generally accepted in order to become popular. If you dont see 1 Timothy unfolding before our very eyes, then you are as deceived as the mainstream. There is so much fire and passion I want to speak on this topic, but Im going to keep quiet and let His Word speak. If you are unable to discern these things and recognize how rampant they are, not only within the world, but in the body, then... I shall pray for you. God is looking for soldiers in His army, not pacifists trying to win favor with the world. Also, please keep in mind that the letters to Timothy were some of the last that Paul wrote. Need we ask why such warnings were included in these letters... Btw... I will not even begin talking about some of these new age translations going around. All this Scripture comes from one of the most accurate translations known, by theologians abroad - NASB. My life Scripture: 2 Timothy 2:4 No soldier in active service entangles himself in the affairs of everyday life, so that he may please the one who enlisted him as a soldier. 1 Timothy 4:1-10 1 But the Spirit explicitly says that in later times some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to deceitful spirits and doctrines of demons, 2 by means of the hypocrisy of liars seared in their own conscience as with a branding iron, 3 men who forbid marriage and advocate abstaining from foods which God has created to be gratefully shared in by those who believe and know the truth. 4 For everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with gratitude; 5 for it is sanctified by means of the word of God and prayer. A Good Ministers Discipline 6 In pointing out these things to the brethren, you will be a good servant of Christ Jesus, constantly nourished on the words of the faith and of the sound doctrine which you have been following. 7 But have nothing to do with worldly fables fit only for old women. On the other hand, discipline yourself for the purpose of godliness; 8 for bodily discipline is only of little profit, but godliness is profitable for all things, since it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come. 9 It is a trustworthy statement deserving full acceptance. 10 For it is for this we labor and strive, because we have fixed our hope on the living God, who is the Savior of all men, especially of believers. 2 Timothy 4:1-5 1 I solemnly charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by His appearing and His kingdom: 2 preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort, with great patience and instruction. 3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires, 4 and will turn away their ears from the truth and will turn aside to myths. 5 But you, be sober in all things, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry. This here... most can not discern or stomach it; hence the Revelation. Revelation 10:8-11 8 Then the voice which I heard from heaven, I heard again speaking with me, and saying, Go, take the book which is open in the hand of the angel who stands on the sea and on the land. 9 So I went to the angel, telling him to give me the little book. And he said to me, Take it and eat it; it will make your stomach bitter, but in your mouth it will be sweet as honey. 10 I took the little book out of the angels hand and ate it, and in my mouth it was sweet as honey; and when I had eaten it, my stomach was made bitter. 11 And they said to me, You must prophesy again concerning many peoples and nations and tongues and kings.
