I am not one to worry profusely about what other people think, BUT how does this government shut down look to the rest of the world. I mean, we are supposed to be the best and most democratic country in the world. The world, for the most part wants to be like us. They see tv shows and the world thinks that every one is the country is living high off the hog etc. If we cant settle our own internal disputes, what right to we have to actually try to say how and what other countries should and should not do. This Healthcare debate really should not be a debate to the level that it is being taken. The healthcare system, as it stood, and still stands did/ does not work for a great proportion of the country. At the end of the day. I believe, that the american people who are paying for insurance are paying extremely high prices for the insurance. Americans are also paying for uninsured people as well, through taxes etc. WE can not continue to prosper as a nation and a country if we let our own people die from an illness or accidents. Or if we have a standard that the patients WILL be cared for, but the family will lose everything, including their home in order to cover their medical expenses. And after they lose everything and are now on the street, social assistance will be paying the tab to make sure that they are in a rescue. And who pays for the rescue?
