I am not privy to the machinations behind Dr Mamphele Rampheles decision to join the DA but what I am clear about is that I will never support a decision a person makes because of racial considerations. I am done with the politics of race. I hate racism in politics, in church, or anywhere I see it. I think it is small-mindedness to be obsessed with the race of a person. On Monday we had a meeting with Angus Buchan in his farm in Shalom. It was myself - a black Xhosa man, 5 Afrikaans speaking men, all of us being addressed by a Zulu speaking English man. What brought us all together? Gods kingdom. If Agang and DA can find commonalities between them, so be it. If Dr Ramphele wants to be used by the DA, thats her choice to make. Can we see beyond the colour of someones skin? If there are white people who are racist, it is their problem and not mine. To say all white are racist is like saying all black people are noisy or thieves. It is gross generalizations that does not take this country forward. I refused to governed by fear. First it was swaart gevaar and now it is wit gevaar. Is this Gods way for us? Are we going to be locked in these paradigms forever?
