I am not sure what to make of the issue that Identity Thief is still the most popular rental. I thought it was terrible and insulting on many levels. With a rating of 5.6, I did not expect a lot from this movie, even as a rental. However, why is it doing so well? The only reason I can think of is that with the bad reviews, the public was thought it was not good enough to go to the cinemas for this and that they would rather wait for the dvd release. I think they were expecting more from Melissa McCarthy. It might also be a marketing issue.
