I am off to the DFS to get my ticket to Dubai. I have about 36 hours to get out of Afghanistan. My orders from the government have not been sent so I will go sip on a cold beer in Dubai. One thing I hate in the world is having to rely on someone else. These people in the contracting office work at the same pace as the people in the Dallas County DMV or the City of Dallas Permit office. When you go to those places and you wonder how those people are paid to do things as slow as possible. Ultimately the US government (taxpayers) will be paying the expenses for me to be sitting on my butt in Dubai because somebody is taking their time processing the paperwork. I am sure there will be a flood of people right behind be trying to get out of country for the same reason. My orders go away two days before most of the other people out here and there are a lot of people in the same boat I am in. Makes a guy go hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
