I am okay with leaving being part of living and the circle of life - TopicsExpress

I am okay with leaving being part of living and the circle of life but it is so difficult when those who have touched your heart in true friendship are gone. I know the hollow feeling in the pit of my stomach, the lump in my throat and ready tears just behind my eyes will leave after awhile but I will always remember laughing until my cheeks ached at comments he made and stories he shared and will be forever grateful for long talks and sometimes heated arguments with Sam. Fondest to me are the many hours we spent together as he magically transformed the old RVH into the wonderful building you see there today. I was assigned to the Victoria Village project committee by Council and along with others was called to attention at demolition and later construction meeting on site at 9:00 am sharp every day. He was an inspiring tough task master who led by example. I will never forget the day he phoned telling me to get my best suit out because the next day we were going down to the bank to borrow (I don’t remember the exact number of millions at the moment but think 12) from the bank for the project. Down we went and the deal was done. He was a giant in stature, mind and heart. He was a man so proud of being a Cancilla often speaking of his ancestors, relatives and siblings but most of all he was a true family man who often mentioned his beautiful smart wife (as he called her) and sometimes warned me to watch out if Bobby didn’t like something going on in the City - and then would come the familiar chuckle of his good nature. Sam was so proud of his children and absolutely adored his grandchildren often posting message about their accomplishments or things they said to their grandpa. The pleasure was all mine, I will miss him immensely. Bonnie Ainsworth
