I am one exhausted woman. In the last week, I have created/applied for funding to get a new pilot project off the ground in Whitehorse (Safe Haven for Pets - helping victims of domestic abuse escape sooner while finding foster care for their animals, likely also abused), have spent numerous hours working on bookkeeping and managed to reconcile the first six months of 2014 after a 9-hour-solid day yesterday, hosted my father-in-law in our home for a week, pulled off a family birthday party for Blues 2nd birthday, dealt with Konas animal-in-peril cases on a daily basis, contacted the RCMP/Animal Protection Officer about horse cruelty/neglect case, managed ongoing landscaping renos, dealt with insane amount of emails/phone calls/requests at the shop, cared for 8 animals, a toddler and a husband....ALLLLL while trying to get ready for our first-EVER family vacation in t-minus one day and counting. That just brings us to today. If I survive tomorrow, I will deserve an award. But I will settle for some vacation time with my amazing, supportive husband and mind-blowingly awesome daughter - combined with visiting my oldest friends in the world, water parks, Galaxy land and POWER SHOPPING!!! Good luck to Jen Finn who will be walking in my shoes for the next five days!! A shout to all our Edmonton friends...we will be there Aug 27 to Sept 1!!
