I am overwhelmed with emotion. Of course there is a blanket of sadness from loosing my dad but so many moments of joy when I think/realize of how much God loves us....He cares so much for the little things that matter to us. When my dad pleaded with God to let him go peacefully and God answered his prayer. With CHF his death could have been very traumatic and several times in the last days we thought he might choke to death but God honored his son and literally allowed him to close his eyes to this world and open them to the glory of God. I believe, my daddy is alternating dancing in heaven and sitting at the feet of Jesus right now and I am so happy for him. To the people of Gillsburg, you are the best. My daddy loved the hometown where he was born and raised and would rarely leave, even for a day. You have cared for our family from the moment you heard he was on his death bed you called, you came and you sent food. Every call, visit and dish you sent mattered. @Stuart Hemphill and @Monica Corley and others,thank you for the beautiful praise through music. Every person that took the time to honor my dad with your presence at this service, mattered. My mom is in a bit of a grey faunk now as every day of the last 62 years were spent making sure my dads needs were taken care of...she is definitely the June Cleaver mother/wife and a Proverb 31 woman. So for anyone/everyone who did anything touch our hearts thank you. She is overcome by the loss, as we all are, but she is so thankful for wonderful friends and family.
