I am packing as much fun training as I can into my childrens lives while they still revere me as the funkiest human being alive on their planet. Swimming is one of the sports they enjoy. I let them exercise regularly in different waters. There is swimming in the chlorine-cleansed pools sprinkled all over our city. There is sanitized swimming in the school-pool with paid life-guards hanging about. And then there is swimming in the natural rough waters of Lake Victoria. Someone once complained that I am exposing the children to waterborne disease such as bilharzia. Another threatened me that there were crocodiles and man-eating fishes in the lake. And then there is always the fear of the filth flung into our lakes. But my children have so much more fun in the open lake that I would never deny them this pleasure! They delight in riding the waves!
