I am personally undecided on how I feel about this adaption of the classic musical/film Annie. I was a BEHEMOTH fan(atic) when I was a little girl, so Annie holds a very deeply special place in my heart. Ive always been on the fence about adaptions to classics anyway, and with the exception of Baz Luhrmanns work, I tend to be apathetic toward them as a rule. Seeing the trailer for this new Annie to be released, I was unimpressed and disenchanted. Nevertheless, the ethnicity of the child to play Annie should have NO BARING on what people think of this modern-day twist on the original. I have to admit to having a hard time picturing Annie as anything else but a redhead, but the color of this actresss skin has nothing to do with the issue -- just like the adaptation, we can adapt to her not having a head full of tight orange ring curls! My goodness, really? To be honest, I was more torn up about Cameron Diaz being Ms. Hannigan. Now THAT just does not fit the bill for me!
