I am pleased to announce that the Roybal Foundation is partnering with UCLA CESLAC to provide financial assistance to students in the field of health by funding an internship program to reward students who are interning at health care facilities in designated areas. A $500 scholarship will be awarded to six recipients who complete 40 hours of service at their respective site. Application deadline is Monday, February 9, 2015 at 12:00PM In order to qualify, you must fit the following criteria: • Be an undergraduate (community college or a four year institution) student interested in pursuing a career in health care, health education, and/or financial assistance to programs and facilities dedicated to health care • Student must reside OR complete their service hours at the following zip codes: 90022, 90023, 90031, 90033, 90040, 90063, or 90201 • Be interested in securing a placement site which serves a Spanish speaking underserved community • Demonstrate leadership skills and experience in working with ethnically diverse groups • Demonstrate strong verbal written and oral communication skills • Demonstrate financial need • Have reliable transportation • Have a cumulative 3.0 GPA Please see attached application for more details.
