I am pleased to offer my application for the veterinarian position - TopicsExpress

I am pleased to offer my application for the veterinarian position currently posted on the OVMA site. I have long been impressed by the Hospital’s practice and have considered Alta Vista and myself to be an ideal fit. As a new graduate about to relocate to Ottawa, I am looking for an opportunity to launch my career in a busy, modern, small animal and exotics practice that will provide me with the opportunity and mentorship to gain experience in both a general practice and emergency medicine. I seek a clinic that encourages clinicians and supporting staff to learn from one another, support each other and work together as a team to create a friendly, well organized and productive environment. Alta Vista is a clinic that shares a common goal of providing excellence in patient and client care. That is a goal I am eager to embrace as an enthusiastic new veterinarian. Currently, my main area of interest is in emergency medicine. I have discovered that I enjoy the busy, fast pace of dealing with emergencies and the learning opportunity that comes with each case has been invaluable in my development as a veterinarian. After spending more than two years working for the Ontario SPCA, I developed skills in canine behaviour and human-animal interaction. I feel confident in my animal handling skills as well as dealing with clients on animal behaviour issues. Animal behaviour, nutrition, acupuncture and physiotherapy are other areas beyond emergency medicine I have a strong interest in and hope to expand my knowledge through CE. You will find that I present myself with a pleasant and calming energy when dealing with patients and clients. I am comfortable and confident in my ability to manage and resolve difficult situations. I have a positive attitude and I am very eager to learn and contribute with a strong sense of responsibility. As you see from my resume, I studied at St. George’s University School of Veterinary Medicine in Grenada, and have recently completed my clinical training (48 weeks) at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine. I have passed my BCSE and NAVLE, and I have completed my Clinical Proficiency Examination (CPE), but am currently on the wait list to retake two sections. I look forward to hearing from you and hopefully having the opportunity to meet with you. I am from Bowmanville, Ontario and I anticipate that I will be back home by September 24. In the meantime if you have any questions please feel free to contact me by either phone or email. Sincerely, Adrienne Lotton
