I am posing a question. I am wondering what is going on today with the family unit. A 16 year old boy lives at home with both his biological mom and dad who have ALWAYS been married. 1. The boy comes to apply for a coaching position with my company. 2. The mother comes in and proceeds to fill out his application (which by the way, are personality traits the applicant considers most strong about himself). I told her to allow her son to do it. ***the son thanked me for asking her to leave the room so HE could fill it out himself*** 3. Then the mom asks about his pay. 4. The mom tries to call in for her son when he is not going to make it in to work. 5. Finally, the boy has never had a bank account and the parents asked me if I would pay him in cash! UMMMMMMMM......Youre FIRED! He only lasted for 2 days, working only 2hrs per day. Why do so many mothers (specifically African American) not allow their sons the independence to be a man? Why has the Father not stepped up! I told him what was happening and he agreed his wife was out of place and still did NOTHING! Your opinion on this.
