I am posting this because of direct conversations with the barangay captain of San Joaquin, Palo, Leyte (thats where people died at the evac centre during Yolanda). Theyve run out of supplies for the more 800 households that evacuated. Most are fisherfolk and small farmers. They tried returning to homes today but sea still angry and now theres the threat of flash flood from the mountains. They followed Dinkys instructions to seek aid from region if supplies are lacking at the municipality. Heres the response: For the entire Palo (third class municipality, pop 62,727) the DSWD region said it had send 2500 canned goods, 1667 food packs and five boxes of coffee. Yes, thats for the whole municipality. The entire municipality was told to evacuate early. This is where we probably need to review pre-positoning protocols. *Ive sent their report to DSWD.
