I am posting this because this is the reason the caring, loving and concerned person sent me an email about me reposting Pit Bull breed types that need homes. I will meditate and pray on this issue. I will wait 3 days before making a final decision on the issue. As stated earlier, my favorite dog and best dog friend happens to be a female Pit Bull. I love this dog and this will not change. They have a male that I also love. He was abused and needs to be watched, but I know this about him and he likes me as well. The information below is incomplete. This is a tragedy, but still the information is limited. Nothing is stated as to what happened before the strangers got there and managed to corral the dog into the yard again. Mind you that these were strangers and the dog let the woman get back into her car and then the woman and another person were able to corral the animal back into the yard. There is something not being said here. If the dog was totally out of its mind, why didnt it go after the two strangers? I am not saying the dog did not need to be put down. My question is why the owner and not the total strangers were attacked? This is another story that the second shoe has not dropped. This is a situation in which everyone will walk on egg shells to avoid the question. Was this dog being hit or abused in some way? In this case, I doubt the second shoe will ever drop. I will add this, that when I look at a photo of a dog, I look at the eyes to see who is there. If I feel the dog is not still a loving type, I do not repost. You do not see every dog I see, posted by me. If I do not feel right about the dog, I do not post it. This has always been the case. If I feel a dog will chew shoes, I might post it. If I feel the dog looks mean or the eyes do not shine with love, I will not post. I do care about peoples safety, even if I prefer the company of animals. An article appeared in The Hartford Courant November 14, 2013 I have altered the article and removed personal info. A 65-year-old woman from Wilton CT lost all of one arm and part of the other after she was attacked by her familys pit bull on Monday The woman is in stable condition at Norwalk Hospital. A rabies test on the dog came back negative. The dog was wandering in the road when it attracted the attention of a woman who was driving through the residential neighborhood around 11:30 a.m Initially worried about the dogs safety, the woman got out of the car and tried to corral it, But the dog acted aggressively toward her, and she returned to her car. Another motorist then came by, and together the two were able to get the dog into owners driveway. Then they heard the 65 year old woman who was hiding under a vehicle in the driveway, injured and calling for help. the first officer to arrive shot and killed the dog. the 65 year old woman had bite injuries up and down her body from her legs to the side of her head. She lost one arm completely and the other below the elbow Wiltons animal control department dealt with the dog twice this summer, in July and August, both times for complaints of the dog roaming off the property. It had resided in the home for nearly two years. The investigation was still underway on Tuesday.
