I am posting this for a couple of reasons. First - many of you may not have known Obama gave a fourteen-minute speech tonight. Granted it is a speech, but worth a listen. Second - if you have any question whether we have a liberal media, what happened tonight should put that garbage to bed. ABC, NBC, and Fox decided to opt out of airing the POTUSs speech. This shouldnt be a shruggable offense. This is the first BLATANT foray into a media that is not free press but bought and sold according to political ideologies, and as such, should make each and every one of us outraged. When these channels get to decide what you will and will not see when it comes to the very workings of this country, that is a scary thing. And no... it is not liberal. In my opinion, if you are a broadcast network, POTUS speeches should be mandatory. Anyway... The speech itself, I dont agree with the idea of an immigrant being given temporary status if they come out about their being illegal. It means nothing without congress actually doing their job and figuring out laws to ensure that people who work have a chance to stay and do the time for their crime. Im not wowed by heartfelt stories of who hell be meeting. I do feel we have an obligation to do right by people because we are human, and because we definitely were strangers once ourselves.
