I am posting this for those whove inquired a deeper understanding of The Prophet/ Seer gift. I pray you gleam from this. Keep in mind that Im not saying that this is an complete or exhaustive study, but its what I know from operating in this office and have gleamed in my training. The seer prophets, or the seers, (raah and chozeh) operate in a dimension where they receive prophetic revelation through visionary encounters. These prophetic vessels see visions, perceive things in the spirit-realm, and those things which are in the spirit-realm are made visible to the seers. Seeing is absolutely normal to them. Seers gaze into the unseen realm. Their lives are founded and rooted in the Word of God and in the Secret Place of prayer. Their visions and visionary encounters with the Lord help the Body align with what the Lord wants to do and release on the earth. They are an important part of the body of Christ. Now to understand how prophets operate in the Church, we must understand how they functioned in the Old Testament. The various Greek and Hebrew words that are translated “prophet” or “seer” help a lot in understanding both what a prophet is and how God works with them. The most common word translated “prophet” in the Old Testament is Nabiy, which means “spokesman.” The prophet is a “spokesman” for God. The prophet must be able to hear the voice of God and bring God’s words to the world. Not everyone who prophesies is a prophet. As born-again believers in Christ we all have the ability to prophesy, by way of the gift of The Holy Spirit (The Ruach HaKodesh). However the office of the prophet functions diffently than that of the manifestation of prophecy. In regard to prophets in the Church, the book of Acts confirms what Ephesians and Corinthians state doctrinally, that the Lord selects and specifically calls some men and women to be prophets. Prophets were important in the establishment of the church at Antioch, the first church recorded that was composed of both Jews and Gentiles (Acts 11:27) and we are just as equally as important in the Churh today. Amen. God bless you all.
