I am posting this open letter to salute my granddaughter Kayla Tausendfreund who today made a commitment to defend our country by joining the proud men and women of the United States Navy. I am so proud of her for this act of selflessness I feel compelled to brag! Kayla , I m so proud of the person that you have grown into. I cant begin to tell you how proud I / we are of you! It is a very noble thing you are doing! The rewards you will receive both mentally and physically (not to mention monetarily), will far outweigh the sacrifices you will have to make.
