I am posting today regarding a need in our community. Recently the Church Women United held a meeting in which the Department of Human Services (DHS) told of the need for foster homes in our immediate area. We also learned that children when going to a placement carry their belongings in BLACK TRASH BAGS. This is NOT good. My friends and i are making a solution our project. We are attempting to acquire fifty (50) back packs, duffel bags, book bags and suitcases to give to these children. We need your help. Thus far three (3) have been delivered to DHS. I have seven (7) book bags to deliver on Monday. I am in possession of five (5) suitcases which need cleaning after having been stored for sometime. Will get them delivered as soon as possible after I have them clean. Please check your closets, garages and etc for any thing you would be willing to DONATE. You may PM me and I will pick up and deliver them or you may take them yourself to the DHS on S. Main. I consider this a real LOVE NEED. Altus has come forward so often to meet needs of many kinds. IF THIS SOUNDS AS IF I AM BEGGING, WELL, I WILL DO IT. These children are in a CRISIS likely not of their own making. Any way you can help is appreciated.
