I am praying that a Christian (who went missing for few days) would get professional mental health help, including counseling and medicine. Unfortunately, I know that she is from a fundamental Pentecostal church where psychology and medicine is viewed as Satans tools and therefore is frown upon. Their restriction is similar to Amish and technology or Jehovahs Witness and blood transfusion. Any appearances of mental problems to that church is considered as spiritual warfare and their usual solution to this is to speak in tongues, pray hard, and cast out demons. Of couse, those spiritual solutions wont work. It is like quack medicine or snake oil. It is sad how religions can hinder the needy from getting help by their silly, superstitious probhitions. We cannot prove or demonstrate that Satan is real. However, mental illness can be proved and demonstrated. It is a serious problem. Proper solution is access to professional mental health service and medicine. Of course, when I say praying, I was being sarcastic.
