I am praying that all sides can come together on this. Certainly responsible property owners should NOT be made to feel as though they have to bear the burden. At the same time we need to encourage pride in our city! I agree wholeheartedly with Tuffy Shallenbergers argument that people are NOT going to want to shell out big bucks in rent and be surrounded by blight. I likewise appreciate Dr. Dascanis concern about elderly landowners being placed in difficult situations at times. I am glad to see that Aaron Zolbrod also recognises this and wants to make provisions for it in the resolution. I wholeheartedly believe that we ALL need to come together and do what is best for the CITY. ALL property owners in the city have rights. And those rights extend to the homeowners of the city who want to have a BEAUTIFUL place to call home, not a blighted eyesore! Certainly there are ways to compromise and come up with a resolution that protects EVERYONES rights well at the same time moving the city FORWARD. Or am I just a hopeless dreamer :-( Please share far and wide to get a GOOD and CONSTRUCTIVE conversation going. I am sick of name-calling and venom. I want to see POSITIVITY!!!!
