I am pretty sure Ill be returning to South America this summer to do what I feel like I missed out on last year: northern Brazil and the glorious beaches, Angel Falls, the Amazon River boat to Colombia (8 days in a hammock watching pink dolphins and drinking rum - no problem!), the Lost City trek, and the San Blas Islands. Then upwards through Central America. After falling in love with Brazil last year, I decided I cant pass up the once-in-a-lifetime experience of the World Cup in such a vibrant country. Debating between watching the USA play in Natal or in Manaus. I know I met heaps of you on the road who have visited these places, so any advice? Any friends along the way? Also, thoughts on safety in Venezuela? Im pretty sure Caracas is out of the question for an American at this point, but the regions around Angel Falls? Suggestions for Amazon tours out of Manaus vs out of Leticia? Is the boat ride from Colombia to Panama as brutal as I hear? And whos still on the road?!
