I am proud graduate of the 2008 class of Marian High School. I have always loved telling people about the wonderful education I received and all the incredible people I was surrounded by. The way that this controversy has been handled has made me ever more proud. I never had Ms. Webb but I knew who she was. I know that my friends loved having her as a teacher and that she had a big impact on their lives. I wish I had gotten to know to Ms. Webb better when I was a student. I am in awe of how gracefully she has handled this situation. She embodies everything it means to be a member of the Marian community and it is a shame that she was removed from it. Sr. Lenore and the rest of the administration should be proud of the women that have walked through those doors and are now standing for what they believe in. We were taught to stand up for our beliefs and to never shed our morals. I do not see any of us backing down on this issue until we see the change that is needed; a change that would Marian an even better institution. To all the current student who stand with Ms. Webb, keep your heads up. Stand your ground. You are doing exactly what you are being taught to do! Do not turn your backs on what you believe in because someone tells you it is wrong. You are not wrong! My thoughts are prayers are with Ms. Webb and her family. Your baby is the luckiest baby in the world. He/She has two incredible mothers that will raise him/her to be a well-rounded, strong person that never backs down or gives up on their beliefs or their faith.
