I am proud to be part of the biggest announcement for Oromocto in the 15 years Ive been MLA. A multi-million dollar 55 bed specialized nursing care residence for Oromocto. Our seniors can live closer to home. I was part of many meetings with the town, operators Marty Hood, Paul Smythe and later adding Gerard Gilbert, contractor ADI and government officials during this time. The provincial government approved up to 68 beds earlier this year. The provincial government will also provide 1000s of dollars in financial subsidy to residents based on their financial need. And it will create over 40 direct and indirect jobs. This is just no ordinary project, I have no doubt with the quality of the partners, this will be one of, if not the best specialized nursing residence in the province. This is indeed probably the best town council I have seen in the town of Oromocto for many years. They are everywhere, and they work together and have been a pleasure to work with on this! Well done everyone involved!
