I am proud to have voted twice for President Obama. He is just the right amount of Mr. Rogers meets Richard Pryor. And yes he is beholden to banks and corporations and what not. But he is trying to do the right thing. In order to be President he had to compromise and play the game. Be pragmatic to a fault. But he is a real person. He has integrity. A visionary. Not just for our country, but for the world. He is brilliant, charming, funny, curious, worldly, compassionate. A great leader. Yes I am a bleeding heart liberal. No he is not progressive enough for me. As much as people tune out politics and are jaded by it, if Al Gore had won, we would not have invaded Iraq. As plastic as he was, he was the staunchest environmental advocate. Yes we can dream about an idyllic world where we dont have wars and poverty and racism and the subjugation of women and the environment is doing just fine etc. But in reality you gotta be a hustler to be president. And Obama is gonna do some great things in the 4th quarter of his presidency. Whether you like it or not, the world will be a better place than it would have been if some other numbskull was in there. Its ok if you disagree with me. Keep it civil. We are Americans. We are a proud people. That being said, tragically flawed. But lets be good to each other and ourselves and all our fellow humans. Fight the good fight friends.
