I am publishing this information because Paypal has not responded - TopicsExpress

I am publishing this information because Paypal has not responded back to my reports of problem regarding preference settings and notifications. This has been ongoing as of Sept 13th 2014. The description of the problem and possible scenarios as follows. I first noticed I stopped receiving email notifications of my debit card transactions. After a week, I logged into paypal and noticed my Notification preference had been turned off. I never turned it off and never received a notification of changing preferences either. At first I thought my account information had been compromised. I spoke with a customer service rep at paypal and he she confirmed I had not logged in through another IP address. I also made my own determination I was not compromised on my PC either by keyloggers, spyware, etc... I described the issue to the representative and she assured me she would get back to me within 24 hours. She did not. After waiting a couple of days. I got someone new on the phone. This time a little more adapt to the technical nature of this problem. He did confirm to me that the site was experiencing an error an He also told me I was correct in my determination of the issue. That was 4 days ago from this post. I have also sent several emails to Pay Pal hoping for some sort of callback to confirm that they actually are doing something to resolve this. How are you at risk ? This is a global paypal error. My notification was changed without an email notification. It was changed on the same day I added new bank account information. I can reset on turn back on my debit card transaction notification and I do receive the email saying I have made changes, but the changes always revert back to being OFF. This means if you are compromised and do not check your activity via the pay pal site, you may have someone using your debit card and the only way you would know is by checking on the paypal site even though you may be expecting transaction information to come into your email. Really, how many people log into paypal just check activity every day. As much as the banks have been getting hacked by criminals lately and all the bad press, I am losing confidence in the financial system. If people dont care enough to try and resolve a serious problem when it made obvious do you thing they care when its YOUR money being stolen because you did want to check your balance knowing you had your notification working ? The implications of this are very serious as I do not see the problem being resolved. Please SHARE THIS and if you have Paypal and a debit card from them, check your email notifications to make sure they really work.
