I am reading a very interesting book written by Professor Paul Zane Pilzer, a world-reknowed analyst of world economic trends and advisor to 2 US presidents. The book is titled The Next Millionaires. Here is an excerpt from chaper 9 which is titled The Age of the Entrepreneur: The traditional wisdom in the second half of the twentieth century was: go to school, get a good education and go to work for a good company. The idea of going into business for yourself was regarded as risky. Admirable perhaps, but risky and may be a little crazy. Today, its completely the other way around. Today, its risky to work for a corporation! Its far more sensible to go to work for yourself. This confirms one of my statements in my book Be Your Own Boss, which is this: Starting your own business is risky in the short-term; holding onto a job is riskier in the long-term.
