I am really excited. In another two days, I will be in the land of Jesus Christ, trying to walk the path he had once walked. Have just read the Sermon on the Mount again. It is one of the most sublime documents of human civilization. I chanced upon a passage in it. This is what he says about false prophets: Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. When he says trees that are not good should be thrown into fire, does he preach violence? I dont think so. His is a metaphor and that is about all.
