I am really glad that Paul Atchitoff, the EarthJustice Attorney defending the anti-GMO laws, spoke up about the judge bashing. This kind of behavior sets back not only the anti-GMO movement but all environmental progress. Paul Achitoff says My input is I think this campaign to discredit Judge Kurren is unfounded, childish, and counterproductive. Insulting a judge and his wife isnt the way to get what you want.If you dont agree with a judges decision you appeal, which is being done. If the appeals court disagrees with him, you get vindicated. I have enough respect for Judge Kurren, after appearing before him on many different cases for 25 years, to believe he wouldnt be influenced by the factors mentioned in the article, and that he wouldnt consciously go after the groups defending the ballot initiative. But why poke him with a stick? And any third persons who may be on the fence on the whole issue will read this and conclude that supporters of the ballot initiative are fools with no sense or respect. So all in all, a stupid move being promoted by a few people who imagine theyre very clever, but are putting at risk a lot of work by a lot of people over a long period of time.
