I am really pained at the laziness on display by our youths. As a person who grew up under military regimes except the Shagari regime when I was leaving secondary school, the ambition was to be a soldier - an officer and a gentleman. I wanted to be a priest of the Anglican faith too. There was no easy money. I worked as a miller at Sparkling Breweries while running in the relay club of the company, until I gained admission to read Law in Uniben in 1987. My salary was N200.00 a month.I went to Emmanuel College of Theology Ibadan for their interview to become a priest too.I passed the examination and my success was announced in church,All Saints Church,Ughelli by the late Chief Venerable D.U.A. Eferakeya of blessed memory. I chose to study Law. This was after I went for the Nigeria Defence Aceademy interview twice without success. Members of the 37th and 38th Regular Courses should be aspiring to be Brigadiers now. Everything seems to be very okay with the citizens even though many people did not know the atrocities the military rulers were committing. I remain employed by the Delta State Sports Council even until NOW as I have not formally resigned.I was on Grade level 12 when I was last paid in 2000. You see how I have been working from when I was a teenager.I dont want to tell you how I paddled canoe to dig sand -sharp white sand at Ovwor river when I was barely 10 years old. A trip was about 30 kobo or 50 kobo depending on how laden the canoe was. This day and age,our youths have done their best to make do with the challenges of the present. It is politics,yahoo-yahoo,criminality,and of course brilliance in other chosen fields by others - doctors,engineers,lawyers,footballers,athletics,music,actors/actresses,etc. The government has however not invested in the youths as they should. The result is criminality and the ubiquitious corruption in all facets of our human endeavours - from thrones of gods to those of men, from education to the film industry; from the head of the family to the wayward child. Please do not mention the Police and Politics. There is no place on earth that the conscience of the people has been so disorganised, mortgaged to the devil, and arrested by lucre than Delta State. It is unimaginable that the ambition of any youth is to become a political guru. Like the shoe-shiners in the days of Old 419ers,they are ready to wait, queue and shoeshine until it gets to their turn to L O O T or hammer. There is no honest mindset to turn the fortunes of the people around. When power was handed over to civilians in 1999,Delta State was literally seized by a set of politicians known as the Class of 1999. They are the peedeepee gang of looters and beneficiaries of looters. Some were good professionals before they strayed into politics. It has become impossible since then to uproot them from the governance of the State. Chief Great Ogboru has been tenacious and steadfast in his mission to free our State from the hoodlums. Many continue to trust him and believe in him. Yet,the cabal has thrown spanners and sinks into his way to no avail. They have put knives in the things that held him with wavering political co-journeymen.Some fell apart, some on the wayside. But he rises from any setbacks to greater strength and relevance. I am dismayed at the cheekiness of the peedeepee and those they have cast spells on. Why should the gubernatorial primary of one political party decide who becomes governor of Delta State? Many chorused support and triumph for their benefactors. How they are already Executive Governors of the State at a party primary! How did your candidate perform? They went to recycle our stolen money! Now that the scales have fallen from your eyes, kindly embrace the reality and your hope. This is Great Ogboru.A man steeped in honesty, hardwork and enterprise. He alone can exorcise the evil spirits of subjugation, subservience and inferiority complex from your veins. He alone can make you realise you own Delta State as much as those giving you crumbs at the moment. He alone can restore your dignity and self worth. Stop being a slave in your fathers resource-filled mansion. Stop being used towards the selfish political end of these jobbers. The gubernatorial election is not over at the primaries of the peedeepee - people deceiving people. They have Great Ogboru to contend with. This time around wake up and be a proud Deltan you are. Defend your votes and make them count. The Gubernatorial election is in 2015 and not 2014. As for those spreading tribal hatred.Repent. We wont allow tribal sentiments to displace our desire for good leadership in the STATE. THEY CAME UP WITH ROTATION IN THE PEEDEEPEE BECAUSE they are incompetent.Who cares who has ruled us if they had performed and distributed the dividends of democracy as they should? We must not vote for any member of the CLASS OF 1999. Ogboru represents our destiny, our hope and our RESTORATION. Dont believe what they tell you to discredit him.
