I am really saddened right now. 1 year ago I had a neighbor that was being brutally beaten by her boyfriend while bystanders stood by and watched as she screamed for her life. I was the one that made the 911 call and now that the case has gone to trial,I was subpoenaed as a witness by the State. As I sit and listen to the young lady recant every statement she made on the brutal day,my heart breaks!! She is willing to go to jail and lie under oath to protect her assailant. I am somber because the truth is I see myself in this young lady. How many women stay or put the blinders on,all in the name of Love? I have learned that love is kind,gentle,and compassionate. Love is not abusive Mentally,Verbally,or Physically!! I was a little bothered that I was subpoenaed,almost made me feel that I never should have called 911. Shame on me. I am grateful to be sitting in this courtroom this morning for many reasons. Thank You Universe for always teaching me and guiding me ❤️
