I am reminded of Pauls statement in Philippians 3:10 where he states his desire is to know God. Here is a man nearing the end of his life who has revealed more to us about the things of God than any other person (other than Jesus) and yet He still wants to know Him. I am convinced that the more God reveals of Himself to us the more we come to understand we know precious little about Him. His magnificence, glory and love is far beyond our ability to comprehend much less appreciate. And so Paul, who obviously knows much about God, still is seeking to know him. Surely this should be our constant prayer too. Dont you agree? Philippians 3:8 Yes, furthermore, I count everything as loss compared to the possession of the priceless privilege (the overwhelming preciousness, the surpassing worth, and supreme advantage) of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord and of progressively becoming more deeply and intimately acquainted with Him [of perceiving and recognizing and understanding Him more fully and clearly]. For His sake I have lost everything and consider it all to be mere rubbish (refuse, dregs), in order that I may win (gain) Christ (the Anointed One), (Amplified Bible)
