I am reminded once again today of one of the many reasons I do not - TopicsExpress

I am reminded once again today of one of the many reasons I do not own a cell phone. Mobile apps, such as Facebook for example, are apparently developed by escaped drug test monkeys. Either that, or millions of dollars just arent enough to add in a feature that prevents the phone from having constant epileptic siesures every time there is online activity, or friends message you with updates. What used to be a casual act of a friend checking in and saying hello and sharing some thoughts about their day with you, has now turned into your phone acting as if its been possessed by Satan, as you look at it wondering whether or not its going to start spewing green puke like on the exorcist. Now I understand that for some folks, a cell phone is all you can afford right now. I can clearly remember the days when even $10 seemed like something challenging to obtain. Times are tough. The economy sucks. And the President is too busy working on his golf swing, while using his pen and phone to whip out all kinds of illegal executive orders, making America resemble Nazi Germany just a little bit more each day. I get it. But for those of you not being hit so hard, something like a Netbook or cheap laptop seems far more sensible than a cell phone. Wireless Internet costs as much as cell service. Things like Skype can cheaply be made to act as a real phone. For those of you who drive, a simple DC to AC Inverter will let you plug your laptop into your cars electrical system as if it was a regular wall outlet. So for those of you stuck with a cell phone, please try not to be too angry with your friends for caring about you and checking in and sharing stuff with you. Its not their fault your primary mode of communication is an annoying little portable demonic hell spawn. But if you can afford a laptop or netbook, free yourself from annoying cell phones. Its not that hard.
