I am researching my 2nd great grandmother Cora Lindquists paternal line. She was born 1 Dec 1881 in Orgryte to Julius Lindquist (b 22 May 1856 Morlanda) and Julia Andersdotter (b. 19 Sep 1855 Hulta). For some reason Coras name was originally Agda Emilia Lindquist. Im not sure why it was changed in Massachusetts. Her sister Ida was initially Ada. Julius was apparently born Julius Adrian Christensson on 22 May 1856 in Morlanda to Christen Lindquist (b 26 Dec 1808 - d. After 1877) and Cajsa Eliasdotter (b. about 1820). Christen was a fisherman in Ostersidan. I cant find anything else on Julius parents or his grandparents. Im also curious why the surname went from Christensson to Lindquist. I wonder if Christen was born a Lindquist or not? Im new to Swedish genealogy and Im a little confused. Any help or advice is appreciated! This picture is of Cora Lindquist. Her family left Sweden for the US on 15 Dec 1882 on the SS Orlando to Hull.
