I am running for a three year term as selectman for Canton I also am circulating 4 petitions three to be voted on at the annual town meeting 12 June 2014 and the forth at the secret ballot vote 10 June 2014. 1. To see if the Town of Canton will vote to require an ordinance outlining a policy and procedure for the removal from office of an elected official from any board or committee to be written and presented, for a vote to enact, to the townspeople within the next 9 months or take any action relative there to. 2 To see if the Town of Canton will vote to require an ordinance to be known as the Canton Wind Power Ordinance to be written and presented, for a vote to enact, to the townspeople within the next 9 months or take any action relative there to. 3 To see if the Town of Canton will vote to require an ordinance outlining a policy and procedure that enacts the following: “any capital improvement and or purchases that total cost exceed $5000, that has not had prior approval at the annual town meeting, must be approved by a special town meeting called for that purpose, the only exception being an emergency”, or take any action relative there to. 4 To see if the Town of Canton will vote to require the town to elect the Fire Chief by secret ballot every three years at the polls held before the annual town meeting. This is to start in 2115.
