I am seeing many negative videos/comments regarding the ALS #icebucketchallenge & I CAN NOT hold it in one second longer OR I am going to BUST!!! I completely agree & have known this information for a LONG TIME that only a small percentage of donations are used to help the actual patients...WHO CARES?? The LAST THING on your mind when you are dying is MONEY!!!! AND, at least that percentage is A LOT HIGHER NOW that the world is STANDING UP & NOTICING this disease. My beautiful cousin Danielle who was also my best friend lost her battle 2 years ago Aug. 14th. We did the #icebucketchallenge on Saturday, our whole family has done it in memory of her & Uncle Don, in addition to our cousin who has been fighting the battle for many years!!! During her struggle, our help, donations, whatever you want to call it, went directly to Danielle & her immediate family who was caring for her. The medical costs are PHENOMENAL!!! We helped as much as we could & mostly PERSONAL HELP, being there to support the family & LOVE ON DANIELLE. I am a HUGE FAN of the #icebucketchallenge not only because it is raising awareness of this inhumane disease (the POWER of PRAYER) but Danielle LOVED LAUGHTER, oh my did she laugh. She is laughing her head off from heaven witnessing all these people dump ice water over their heads & loving the FUN!!! There was a HUGE sign in her room saying NO TEARS, during her last 2 days with us before she departed for HOME. Her only request for her memorial was that NO DARK COLOURS BE ALLOWED, we all dressed in BRIGHT, VIBRANT clothing in addition to the sea of red from her colleagues in the Rcmp. It was a privilege to be a part of & to give a eulogy. It was breathtaking to say the least & something I will NEVER forget
