I am seeing the 50 verses of Psalms 18 addressing things that are true about God, myself & enemies of my soul. "Lord, how I love you! For You have done such tremendous things for me." Then comes a description of a very dark time in hs life. " "Then I screamed to the Lord for His Help. And He heard me from Heaven". Then, the approach of how God came through .....earthquakes, fierce thunder storms, lightening, hail,fire to the earth, smoke to the earth. "He enshrouded himself with thick darkness,veiling His approach with dense clouds ...Suddenly the brilliance of His Presence broke through the clouds with lightening ....He made darkness His hiding place, His canopy around Him,". Then come declarations that the Psalmist says about what he knows about our awesome God & His Word ...like "the Lord was my stay...the Lord my God illumines my darkness... The God who girds me with strength ...girded me with strength for the battle... "The Lord lives, and blessed be my Rock,; And exalted be the God of my salvation". One of the darkest times in my life happened on February 22,2012. A bad kidney infection & sepis in my blood landed me in the hospital & a near death experience. When I read 4-6, I identify with the Psalmist. I,to cried to the Lord & received health again. But in my hospital bed before I was healed, the part that I like to think about that night before midnight in deep darkness & cold....I was repeating Psalms 23, Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for Thou art with me, Thy rod & Thy staff they comfort me." It was then that the peace of God filled my inner being. God wants affirmations from us. My trust in Christ keeps growing as I daily seek Him in His Word. "As for God His way is blameless; The Word of the Lord is tried; He is a shield to all who take refuge in Him". So my loved ones , please take time to learn the God whom we serve. Plan to read Matthew 18 later later. It is 76 outside at 7:45.Want to do outside work before it gets to the 90s. Be blest in the Lord is my prayer for you.
