I am self employed. I own and operate a small business in - TopicsExpress

I am self employed. I own and operate a small business in Sacramento. And, I am the sales tax collector for the State of California. I receive no pay or benefits for my labor and responsibility of this task. Rather, I must pay a business property tax, that is, another tax on the paper towels, pens, chairs and items I have already paid sales tax on. Yes, I am double and triple taxed for the privilege of being the first to arrive and the last to leave - the coveted *job creator* position. I receive no pay if I can not work. In fact, If I can not work I go out of business. However, and as much as I appreciate my excellent employees, I must pay for their sick leave, even though they bring no revenue to the business during that time. By that token, as an unpaid tax collecting employee of the Sate of California, I would like to know where I submit my application for payment for sick leave? Perhaps Darell Steinberg knows? I believe, in this instance, the small business employers of California have been discriminated against, again. Anyone with legal skills ready to challenge the State on behalf of small employers to collect back pay for the duty performed of tax collecting and shepherding these funds to the states coffers, a task not required of the employee with benefits, would be appreciated. mainstreet/article/paid-sick-days-become-mandatory-in-california/page/1
